Another day, another early morning pack.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With our one day in Singapore over, we had to head to the airport at 5:30 AM to make sure we caught our morning flight. We made it to the airport easily before our flight, so we wanted to try out the lounge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should have known that durians were bad news.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We tried to go to the regular lounge, which looked nice\u2014but they kicked us out because we were supposed to go to an even nicer lounge for business class (score!). The food at that lounge was awesome\u2014they had all sorts of local dishes, as well as classics from around the world. Eric also made some bloody Marys just because he could, and we relaxed for a little before our flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were clearly going for variety here.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This flight was a short one: a little shorter than 2 hours, so we had to make the most of it. We got on and asked for sleep masks and slippers, mostly for the rest of the trip. On this one, we were sitting sort of next to each other, so we could easily look over, which was nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our food was a dim sum breakfast, which was very shrimpy but good, and we watched Terminator 2 for the entire flight (which turned out to be almost the exact length of the flight).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watched a movie, did makeup, ate brunch, and traveled from Singapore to Thailand, all within 2 hours.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHasta la vista, baby\u201d flight ended too soon but we were able to enjoy the full Terminator 2 movie. Might be a hot take but 10\/10, highly recommend.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And just like that, the flight was over. The flight attendants all wished us a happy honeymoon as we disembarked. Sad to get off, but looking forward to Thailand, we headed into the airport to book a hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Thailand airport had these cool flatish escalators(?)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Luckily, we found a decent, though too expensive one and headed out through immigration (we finally got that stamp).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel was the Sukusol near the Victory Monument, so we got on public transit and navigated there. It was easy since it was directly on the airport line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We dropped off our things and headed out for food. We couldn\u2019t find a restaurant we\u2019d picked out on Google, so we stopped nearby and ate some decent Tom Yum for Sarah and fried pork with garlic, plus sushi for Eric. After that, we went back to the hotel to relax and plan out our Thailand and Vietnam vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah was happy to have dropped off the bags and grabbed a bite to eat.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

But before that, we went in search of a nail salon for Sarah, since her wedding nails were starting to grow out and look gnarly. We went to a few, but ended up finding one near our hotel. Eric went back and napped while Sarah got her nails done, and she loved the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanting to get out of the hotel, we went on a quick walk up to the Victory Monument. It was dark by then, so we saw all the night market stalls. Eric got a mango smoothie, and we both got some pork satay. It was amazing\u2014perfectly charred and juicy. Sarah is still thinking about it! We also walked around shopping for a shirt for Sarah since she didn\u2019t have any that covered her shoulders and stomach on the trip, and it seemed helpful. We didn\u2019t find anything her size, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best food on the trip so far was these 10Baht pork skewers\u2014grilled to perfection and the perfect combination of crispy and fatty.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Highly recommend checking these out if you can.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We stopped by a corner store to grab water (drinking tap water is not recommended) and interesting local snacks, then headed back for an early bedtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
